BenThis was one of those trips which you really looked forward
to. Lofty and Keith had sorted the travel arrangements and the
mini bus had been booked for the trip.
I had some new clobber for this trip so I had spent nearly £400
before I even got on the bus. Knackers not to be outdone had done
the same as had Goff with his new Stoney.
The Yarmouth contingent eventually left about 7am which was
later than planned but due to the fact that Scargill Daz was still
in his pit.
I was picked up just after 7.30 in Norwich then it was on to
Wymondham to collect Dom and Rappo. The final pickup was Knackers
in Brandon before heading off to the game. As soon as Knackers got
on he dished out a couple of furry hats and a rattle before
opening his Bud and dishing it out. For some reason they went down
a treat that early in the morning. Tungy couldn’t even face one at
this point which was unusual for him. He did look a bit tender and
I think it was because he had some blood in his alcohol stream. I
had to plug the MP3 player in which woke Tungy and Daz up. This
was not in anticipation of the sounds but they saw the opportunity
of getting in some cheap shots as I made my way to the front. I
had taken with me a bottle of White Chocolate Corkys which I
opened shortly afterwards. Me, Rappo, Knackers, Daz and Lofty had
a couple of glasses. It was lovely tasted just like milkshake
which was perfect for breakfast. That with another couple of
bottles of beer and it was a really good fun trip.
Shortly after this it was goodnight and see you then. By all
accounts I fell into my seat and that was the last they heard from
me. The next thing I remember is Knackers ringing me at 2.15 so I
could get to the pub. We had already arrived at Stockport and they
left me asleep on the bus.
I got up got myself dressed and made my way to the pub where I
met everyone. I was on the water and coke then for a while. Brett
from the Handsworth Blades and Jamie the Wendy fan had come down
to see us which was a really good gesture thanks lads. After
speaking to the locals buying a few badges etc we all made our way
to the ground.
The game wasn’t great to be honest but we won 3-1 which makes a
great change. For years now we have travelled home from away games
on the end of a thrashing.
